Frequently Asked Questions

What is happytreats.org?
happytreats.org is a non-profit initiative that aims to provide underprivileged children aged 7 to 12 with memorable experiences through donor-sponsored treats. Donors can choose from a variety of treats to gift to these children, ranging from picnics and meals at restaurants to movies and visits to exciting places.

Who are the recipients of these treats?
The recipients are less privileged children from various backgrounds. happytreats.org collaborates with NGOs working with underprivileged children and schools in rural and semi-urban areas to identify deserving children between the ages of 7 and 12.

What types of treats can I gift to these children?
We offer a diverse menu of treats that you can choose from. These treats include picnics, meals at restaurants or food courts, trips to the movies, visits to planetariums, historical sites, and more. You have the freedom to decide how you would like to treat the children and bring smiles to their faces.

Who accompanies the children during these treats?
Trained girl volunteers are responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the children during their treats. These volunteers will pick up the children from their homes or NGOs, accompany them to the treat location, and ensure they have a wonderful time. For convenience and safety reasons, we typically take children out in groups of four.

Is the donation amount and the treat cost the same?
No, the donation amount you provide covers the treat cost and also contributes towards overhead expenses. To ensure the sustainability of the initiative, ten percent of your treat value has been set aside for overhead costs including technology, payment gateway charges, communication, accounting and other operational aspects. At the end of the year, the balance, if any, is carried forward to the next year and deployed for treats.

Can I treat children for multiple periods?
Absolutely! There are no limitations on how many treats you can gift. You have the flexibility to treat a child every month for a quarter, half a year, or even a full year. When making a donation, you can specify the number of treat months you’d like to contribute.

How can I get involved in this initiative?
Getting involved is simple. Visit our website, happytreats.org, and explore the menu of treats available for donation. Select the treats you’d like to gift and specify the number of treat months you’d like to contribute. Your donation will not only bring joy to underprivileged children but also help sustain the initiative for years to come. You could even become a volunteer and have oodles of fun with the kids.

How can I be sure that my donation is making a difference? happytreats.org maintains strong partnerships with NGOs, schools, and other organizations working with underprivileged children. We ensure that the treats are organized and executed seamlessly, with the focus on safety and creating positive and memorable experiences for the children. Regular updates and feedback from these children and the volunteers will provide you with insights into the difference your contribution is making.

Can I claim tax exemption under Section 80-G for my donation?
Currently, we do not offer tax exemption under Section 80-G for your donation. We will keep you informed if we receive the certification in the future.

Can I know more about the children I treat?
Certainly! If you have registered on happytreats.org, we will provide you with details about the children you have treated. This way, you can learn more about the impact your generosity has on their lives.

Can I accompany the children I treat during their outing?
We would be delighted if you can spare the time to accompany the children you treat. If you wish to volunteer and be with the children during their treat, please let us know in advance, and we will make arrangements for you to join them.
