About Us

A small impulsive act gave birth to the idea of Happy Treats. We took Nandini and Rahul (children of the Raj Mistri who lived and worked at a nearby construction site) for a drive and then to McDonald’s for a soft serve ice cream. It was the first time Nandini and Rahul had sat in a car or seen a McDonald’s from the inside. Their eyes lit up, gleaming with excited joy. This small act had perhaps been the most thrilling day of their lives.

Happy Treats is about adding moments of joy to the lives of less-privileged children. Simple, small acts of kindness can make a significant impact. We may not change lives, but we can make their days brighter, and perhaps inspire others to be kind, creating a circle of kindness. Most of us get caught up in our own lives and the daily busyness that we impose on ourselves, forgetting that the simplest of things can have the most significant impact on someone else. To experience the joy of treating less-privileged children, all you need to do is treat a child.

happytreats.org is a non-profit initiative that aims to provide underprivileged children aged 7 to 12 with memorable experiences through donor-sponsored treats. Donors can choose from a variety of treats to gift to these children, ranging from picnics and meals at restaurants to movies and fun educational trips.

Happy Treats has been initiated by Sandeep Vij along with numerous Joy Makers.
